So yeah I'm finally back with a new pretty desktop computer.
As long as the PSU doesn't catch fire I'll hopefully never be gone this long again. Can't wait to play again

#7403 [TUTORIAL] How to ignore the rules and do whatever you want

Posted by Top Dogfish on April 27 2015 - 09:00 PM

So, you want to become the new big, bad jerk on this forum now, eh? Well, luckily for you I've been around these neck of the woods quite a bit. So I know how to slip past the mods/owner quite easily. Here is how!

You gotta find the rules to this part of the forum so that you may know what is to be expected out of all users in this section.

Rules found here: http://thedalokohscl...before-posting/

Now that you know what is to be expected out of you. Do the opposite of all the things pointed out in the thread!

Everyone loves this font, but people sometimes forget that it exists! Be sure to remind them.

You now know how to break the rules and to be a true rebel! Now go out there and show people that you frankly don't give a hug!

#4758 [TUTORIAL] How to correctly use "sign in through Steam".

#4716 [TUTORIAL] How to correctly use "sign in through Steam".

Posted by Benjamoose on May 03 2012 - 02:39 AM

First of all, a quick security note. For all those concerned, "sign in through Steam" uses the SteamAPI.

This means that when you click the button, you go to the actual Steam website, and then come back here, and none of the login information is ever sent or stored on this server. Therefore it's completely safe to use with your Steam account. Though naturally you have no obligation to use it as you can always create a normal account (or keep using your old one if you already had one).

Right, now that the obligatory warning is out of the way you are either one of two people:

1) You have never made an account and this is your first time signing up to the form.

2) You had an account on the old forum/website, and are interested in using "sign in through Steam".

If you are number (1) then ignore most of this post and sign up. You can either click "sign in through Steam", sign in, then choose a username and email address. Or you can create an account using "sign up" and then decide to link your Steam account later.

If you are number (2) then read on:
To use "sign in through Steam" with your old account;

- Log in using your old username and password.
(everything has been imported to the new site so you should still be able to log in using your usual account).

- In the top right-hand corner, click your username, then click "My Settings".

- On your settings page, click the tab on the left called "Manage Steam".

- You should see the "sign in through Steam" button on that page. Click it and log in through Steam
when the page tells you to.

- When you are redirected by to the site, you should have now linked your old/generic forum account to your Steam account, and can now use the "sign in through Steam" button from now on if you feel like it, instead of having to make a new account to use this feature!

NOTE: If your old forum account had [ or ] symbols in the username, they have now been converted to - symbols. You are welcome to change this after signing in.

#7350 "Breakdown These Walls" - The War Diaries of Break

Posted by Benjamoose on April 11 2015 - 02:37 AM

As many of you know, Break has been away for some time after being drafted into the ongoing war for freedom.

Thankfully he's been in regular contact and has been mailing me excerpts from his ongoing war diary along with various photos and other materials.

I'm going to try my best to scan the content and post it if and when I can.

It's a little late, but here is the first entry I received a few weeks ago;

March 14th 2015 - "Liberating the Lonnbaka Tribe"

My platoon and I have been tracking down an infamous African killer known as Wonchula Kakaans. So far we've lost three men and my last ration of saltine crackers, but I know by the day is out I will that much closer to tracking him down. He operates through the Lonnbaka tribe. The tribe itself is relatively harmless, but Kakaans has enslaved them and forced guns into their hands to defend against people like me.

The hard part is knowing that when we find him, we'll likely have to take out some of the tribe in self-defense to get to him. Pvt. Jimkins is supposedly working on a plan to avoid the bloodshed but the rest of the platoon aren't so sure that it'll work. I'm holding on to the hope though. His plan is all we have to protect those innocent tribesmen and women, and I'll be damned if I see another young mans eyes as he stares into the face of death. I'll never repeat what happened back at Camp 4. Never.

In more upbeat news, Pvt. Saltsman was sent a package of weights from command to help train him up. I've done my best with what I have (having him run through the snow with a rock strapped to his back wasn't fun, but I didn't have many options for him), though it's nice that we're finally able to complete his training.

The fight broke out so quickly along Paloogi river that we were forced to take him untrained.

I have enclosed a photograph. It was taken moments after we opened Pvt. Saltsman's package. Pvt. Fior had the brilliant idea of holding the travel sheets behind me to try and create a sense of professionalism in the photo.

I think it works rather well!

I hope to be back next week providing Kakaans is taken care of. I look forward to seeing you all!

Few things are as painful as watching Ben trying to use memes.

I'm guessing that applies to drugs, too.

BTW, that was an epic post there.
